Reupholstery in New York

Reupholstery for New York’s designers and architects — recovering and restoring existing furniture for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and Hamptons interiors, in a trade workroom that has served the design community since 1985.

Restoring pieces worth keeping

We recover and rebuild existing furniture — stripping, repairing frames and suspension as needed, and reupholstering in your specified fabric. The result is a piece that holds its shape and detailing, finished by hand.

As a trade workroom, we work from your materials and direction and coordinate pickup, fabrication, and return delivery across the New York area.

What reupholstery can include

  • Recovering in designer-specified fabric
  • Frame and suspension repair
  • New fills and cushioning as needed
  • Coordinated pickup and delivery in New York

How a New York reupholstery project runs with us

Working to the trade, we start from the existing piece and your direction. We arrange pickup across the New York area — a single Manhattan chair or a Hamptons-house worth of seating — and assess the frame, suspension, and fills before any cover comes off.

We strip, repair frames and springing as needed, replace fills where called for, and recover in your specified C.O.M. (customer’s own material). The finished piece is returned and placed, so a New York designer can keep an heirloom or an estate piece in service rather than replacing it.

Frequently asked questions

Can you pick up and return pieces across the New York area?

Yes. We arrange pickup and return delivery throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and the Hamptons, coordinating building access and COIs where a project requires them, so a piece never has to leave your client’s hands unmanaged.

Is it worth reupholstering an older or antique New York piece?

Often, yes — a well-made frame from a Manhattan estate or a vintage Hamptons piece is usually worth restoring. We assess the frame and suspension before quoting so a New York designer can weigh restoration against the cost of building new.

How does C.O.M. work for a New York reupholstery order?

You specify and ship the replacement fabric or leather to our workroom against the order. We confirm yardage against the piece before stripping it, so a New York project never stalls waiting on goods once the chair or sofa is in the shop.

What can a New York reupholstery job include?

Recovering in your specified material, frame and joint repair, new springing or webbing, and fresh fills and cushioning. We tailor the scope to the piece, whether it’s a single Brooklyn armchair or a suite for a Westchester project.
