Custom Upholstery in New York
Custom upholstery for New York’s interior designers and architects — new upholstered furniture built to your design for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and Hamptons interiors, by a workroom serving the trade since 1985.

Recent New York upholstery work
Recent New York upholstery with designer Mark D. Sikes includes a Manhattan apartment with living- and dining-room seating plus wall and ceiling upholstery, and custom upholstered seating built for a room at a Manhattan decorator show house. (Described without client detail.)
Furniture built to your design
We build upholstered seating and case pieces from your drawings and specified materials — frames, fills, and finishes selected for how the piece should sit, wear, and read in the room. Tailoring, seams, and detailing are executed by hand.
Working as a trade partner, we coordinate with your design team from specification through delivery and installation across the New York area.

How a New York upholstery project runs with us
We build to the trade: from your drawings, dimensions, and specified frame, fill, and finish. Most New York orders run C.O.M. (customer’s own material) — you ship the specified fabric or leather to our workroom, and we confirm yardage before cutting.
Frames are built or selected to spec, seats and backs filled for the sit you want, and every piece tailored and finished by hand. We then deliver and install across the New York area, sizing pieces to the realities of a Manhattan elevator or a Hamptons stairwell before they ship.
Frequently asked questions
- Will a custom piece fit through a Manhattan apartment door or elevator?
We plan for it. For New York projects we confirm access dimensions up front and can build with knock-down frames or two-piece construction where a Manhattan elevator, hallway, or Brooklyn walk-up stair would otherwise be the limiting factor.
- How does C.O.M. work for a New York upholstery order?
You specify and ship the fabric or leather to our workroom against the order. We calculate and confirm yardage from the furniture drawings before cutting, so a New York designer knows the goods are reserved to the project before any Manhattan or Westchester piece is built.
- Can you match upholstery to drapery and bedding on the same New York project?
Yes — that’s a common reason New York designers consolidate with us. Upholstery, drapery, shades, and bedding for a single Manhattan or Hamptons project can be built under one roof, so welts, trims, and finishes read consistently across the room.
- Do you deliver and install upholstered furniture across the New York area?
We coordinate white-glove delivery and placement throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and the Hamptons, handling building COIs and service-elevator scheduling where a project requires them.
