Custom Shades in New York
Roman and specialty window shades, fabricated to the trade for New York designers and architects — across Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hamptons, Westchester, and Greenwich. Shades are made by hand in our Long Island City workroom, minutes from Manhattan, by a studio serving the design community since 1985.

Shades made to the window
We fabricate Roman shades and specialty treatments in your specified fabric — flat, relaxed, and structured styles, lined and detailed for the way each window should operate and read.
Everything is made in our Long Island City workroom; measuring and installation are coordinated throughout the New York area, and shades can be paired with matching drapery from the same room of the workroom.

How a New York shade project runs with us
Shades are built to your trade specification. We field-measure each window across the New York area, confirm yardage from the C.O.M. (customer’s own material) you ship to the workroom, and fabricate by hand in Long Island City.
Because the workroom is local, a New York designer can visit work in progress, approve a lining or a hem detail in person, and coordinate installation around building access, COIs, and service-elevator windows.
Frequently asked questions
- Where are shades for a New York project fabricated?
In our own Long Island City workroom — not outsourced. We measure and install across Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hamptons, Westchester, and Greenwich, with the hand fabrication done minutes from Manhattan.
- What shade styles do you make for New York designers?
Flat, relaxed, and structured Roman shades plus specialty treatments, lined and detailed for how each window should operate — including the tall, narrow openings and radiator-depth sills common in prewar apartments and brownstones.
- Can shades be coordinated with drapery on the same New York project?
Yes. Shades and drapery for a New York project are made in the same Long Island City workroom, so a designer can match fabric, lining, and finishing across both and a room reads as one scheme.
- How does C.O.M. work for a New York shade order?
You specify and ship the fabric to our Long Island City workroom against the order. We confirm yardage from the shade measurements before cutting, so the goods are reserved before a treatment is begun.
