What We Make in Long Island City

Short answer: everything soft and most things upholstered. Our Long Island City workroom fabricates custom window treatments, upholstery, custom furniture, and bedding for trade projects across Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hamptons, and the Hudson Valley. If you are specifying a full floor of drapery for a Park Avenue renovation or a single banquette for a Tribeca kitchen, it comes off the same tables, sewn by the same team.

The workroom sits ten minutes from Midtown, which matters more than it sounds. Site measures, strike offs, and installs happen on your schedule, not around a freight timeline from out of state. Window Treatments Built for New York Conditions

New York installs are their own discipline. Prewar buildings give you shallow pockets, plaster returns, radiators under every window, and ceilings that are rarely level from one end of the room to the other. Our drapery team measures every opening individually and patterns panels to the actual conditions, not the drawings. Hand sewn hems and headers come standard on pleated work; we finish roman shades with covered battens and blackout interlining where the spec calls for it.

We fabricate for motorization daily and coordinate directly with your AV integrator on Lutron and Somfy hardware, pocket dimensions, and power locations. For landmarked buildings and co ops with strict alteration rules, we produce installation documentation your board or super will actually accept. Oversized panels for double height great rooms are seamed, weighted, and trained in house before they ever leave Long Island City.

Upholstery and Custom Furniture, Frame Up

Our upholstery bench builds from the frame out: kiln dried hardwood, doweled and corner blocked, with eight way hand tied springs where the piece warrants it. We reupholster estate and vintage pieces with the same care, and we will tell you honestly when a frame is not worth saving. COM is received, inspected, and flagged for flaws before anyone puts a blade to it.

Custom furniture is where designers use us most creatively. Curved banquettes scribed to a site template, headboards sized to nonstandard king mattresses, ottomans built to a specific coffee table height. Send a sketch and a dimension and we will return shop drawings for approval before fabrication. We also check every piece against building access early, because a beautiful sofa that does not fit the freight elevator at 740 Park is not a beautiful sofa.

Bedding, Details, and How to Start a Project

Bedding rounds out most of our residential work: coverlets, duvets, custom shams, bed skirts with inverted corner pleats, and upholstered bed frames built to your spec. It is the layer clients touch every day, and it is where careful pattern matching and clean topstitching quietly earn their fee.
